Hi, I’m Oceana Petra,
a multidisciplinary artist and creator inspired by Nature, the Sea,
and the World of Imagination.
I was born in Zagreb in 1992, on a snowy winter night under the glow of the Full Moon.
I grew up in a small village on the eastern edge of the city, surrounded by Forests and wildflower Meadows.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve felt most at home in Nature. Forests, meadows, shores, quiet paths, and elemental beings were my first friends and teachers. In those places, I would slip into an imaginary world filled with Magic; a World that still lives within me today.
Nature remains my greatest source of inspiration, alongside Music, whose melodies can open dreamlike landscapes in my mind and guide me into Creation.
Before dedicating myself fully to painting and to a Life close to the Sea, I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and Technology. The knowledge and skills I gained there helped me build this website and continue to support me in everything I create today.
My background shaped my eye for colour, composition, and visual balance, and those skills flow naturally into my artistic work. Photography also plays an important role in my creative World, allowing me to capture moments, atmospheres, and small details that often inspire my paintings.
Today, I’m living my dream Life on a small Adriatic island, where time moves slowly. My days are filled with gardening, petting cats, creating Art, and living in harmony with the rhythms of Nature.
I value simplicity, sustainability, and a way of Life that leaves the World softer and cleaner than we found it. By supporting my Art, you are also supporting the things I believe in: small local businesses, organic farmers, cruelty-free living, and a permaculture approach to Life that honours the Earth and all living beings.
I’m a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, I can talk for hours. That’s why my newsletter and physical letters have become some of my favourite places to share my stories. There, I can open up, tell the stories behind my paintings, and write about the moments that shaped each piece.
My Art is meant to be felt.
My collectors often tell me that my paintings bring them comfort, joy, clarity, or a feeling that is difficult to put into words. Some feel an emotional connection to a painting before they can even explain why.
I believe Art can speak in a language beyond words.
For me, creating is an intuitive process. I often feel less like someone who is consciously inventing an image and more like a channel for something that wishes to be created. I follow colour, feeling, intuition, and whatever begins to reveal itself on the canvas.
If you open your heart to them, perhaps they will speak to you in their own language.
